Meeting in two hours, six-hour drive, not with a jet charter
My boss would always say that I am his best presenter and he wouldn’t know what to do if I’m not around. He would always thank me every after presentation that is instantly converted to a closed deal with our clients. I would always return a response that I am only doing my job and he does not have to thank me at all – I’m not doing it for free after all. No matter what I say, he would still thank me. The past weeks he was very busy working with the executive committee of the company and during our internal meetings, he would just say that there’s a big engagement and means big money waiting to pour the company – but he wouldn’t expound on the details. Then one lunch time, he called me up and as if there’s some big emergency. He asked me to prepare my presentation materials and we’ll be leaving in an hour to meet this big client. It was when I got prepared that I realized that the presentation venue is six hours away from where we are. He then revealed that the company owns a private jet charter which will bring us to the meeting which set in two hours. It was a secret to many that the company owns some private jets. So another done deal after I did my presentation, so again, my boss thanked me but this time I thanked him back for letting me fly in a jet charter.
